NEW YORK (September 18, 2013) – Join WEDO’s Young Activist Network in New York! On Thursday September 26th, WEDO invites old and new supporters to an informal mobilization meeting in New York. If you are interested in sustainable development, climate change or women’s empowerment – or all of the above – then this might be for you.

WEDO has a large international network of supporters as our work extends to local organizations all over the world. However, with our main office located on Lexington Avenue, we would very much like to get in touch with young and engaged people in the city of New York. Our idea is to form a wider group of people who want to give visibility to women’s & environmental issues and can be mobilized to assist WEDO in our work when needed.

Sound like something you want to hear more about? Come and have a chat with us! We will be meeting at the Havana Central at The West End on 2911 Broadway (Between 113th and 114th Streets) at 7.35pm on Thursday September 26th (for dinner and/or drinks as you wish).

For those who would like to get some inspiration before the meeting, we invite you to join us at the talk by author Sam Daley-Harris on climate change activism at Columbia University Morningside Campus Earl Hall, Auditorium, from 6pm-7.30pm the same day (registration needed). We will be there at fifteen minutes before, wearing our WEDO buttons, so please feel free to come and talk to us!

If you have any trouble finding us at any of the locations, give Ingrid (917-330-4891) or Bridget (914-310-3220) a ring.

We look forward to seeing you!
