In Memoriam – Marie Aminata Khan

It is with tremendous sadness that WEDO acknowledges the untimely passing of a dear friend and close collaborator, Ms. Marie Aminata Khan. Marie, the gender focal point at the Secretariat of the UN’s Convention on Biological Diversity, has been a partner for many years, working alongside us in countless initiatives at both the international and national levels. Marie’s commitment to and passion for women’s human rights and gender equality made her an easy partner, a close friend and a sister to many of us. She will be sorely missed.

The WEDO family extends our deepest condolences to her sons, Frederic and Charles, and to the loving family members and friends whom she leaves behind.
