New York, April 22–WEDO Executive Director, Thanh Xuan Nguyen, will  speak at the Mother Earth Day Special Event on Wednesday, April 22 from 2:30-5:30 at the UN Headquarters in New York (Read her comments here).

The event highlights the symbiotic relationship that many different cultures have with the natural environment. Other speakers include the President of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Miguel d’Escoto Brockmann, and the President of Bolivia, H.E. Mr. Evo Morales Ayma. The General Assembly is expected to soon declare the 22nd of April International Day of Mother Earth.
