A five-part learning series for advocates, activists and movement leaders to build knowledge, strengthen strategy, and take action for a more just and gender-responsive climate finance system.
This learning series, running from September through October 2026 under The Loom: Feminist Advocacy Lab, helps advocates, activists, and movement leaders build knowledge, strengthen strategy, and take action for a more just, gender-responsive climate finance system.
It is designed for several audiences, from feminist climate justice advocates engaging at any level of climate decision-making to climate justice advocates seeking to learn more about demands for gender-responsive climate finance. If you are curious about how gender and climate finance are connected, this series is for you!
By registering, you will have access to all five sessions, hosted in English with simultaneous translation into French and Spanish. Each session and its interpretation will be recorded, and each participant will have access to a free online platform with the recordings, slide decks, and other resources. Register for the series even if the timing doesn’t work for you, so you can access the materials later!
Additionally, if you attend the five sessions, you will receive a certificate. You can also earn a certificate by viewing the recordings.

Session 1: The Big Picture of Climate Finance

This session will introduce the big issues in climate finance and how they relate to gender-responsive climate finance.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Discuss qualitative and quantitative aspects of climate finance
- Articulate the significance of gender-responsiveness to climate finance effectiveness
- Identify current entry points for climate finance advocacy
Session 2: Direct Access for Women’s Organizations
September 24, 2026, from 09:00 NYC/15:00 CEST
This session will review the longstanding demand for direct access for women’s organizations and gender-related groups.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Articulate the centrality of direct access to achieving gender-responsive climate finance
- Discuss key features of direct access that fulfill tenets of climate finance
- Identify multiple pathways for operationalizing direct access
Session 3: Gender Ambition within Climate Projects
October 1, 2026, from 09:00 NYC/15:00 CEST
This session will review how gender considerations can and should inform the entire climate finance project cycle to substantially advance gender equality.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Discuss gender-related activities, indicators, and targets relevant to climate finance
- Identify decision points within each step of the project cycle to advance gender equality
- Articulate why false solutions cannot advance gender equality
Session 4: Accountable Climate Finance
October 8, 2026, from 09:00 NYC/15:00 CEST
This session will review why transparency and accountability are essential to achieving gender-responsive climate finance.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Discuss the right to information, decision-making, and redress
- Identify activities that enhance accountability
- Access avenues for information related to multilateral climate finance
Session 5: Transforming the System
October 15, 2026, from 09:00 NYC/15:00 CEST
This session will situate the efforts to transform climate finance architecture beyond individual projects and individual funds.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Discuss why supporting advocacy and feminist movement-building efforts is a cornerstone of advancing gender-responsive climate finance
- Advocate for scaling up high-quality climate finance while dismantling barriers to finance
- Identify pathways for staying engaged in climate finance advocacy
