NEW YORK (August 20, 2013)– WEDO and the REDD+ SES Initiative are pleased to invite you to a webinar and brown bag discussion on our recent joint publication , Getting gender right in the REDD+ Social and Environmental Standards.

We hope you can join us on Wednesday, August 28th at 12:30 pm EST/4:30pm GMT. A save the date announcement is attached.

The publication highlights the action research on gender equality, women’s rights and REDD+ SES and includes a practical checklist tool to address gender considerations in REDD+. It also focuses on the research we carried out over the last year in 4 countries using REDD+ SES: State of Acre (Brazil), Ecuador, Nepal and Tanzania. During the event, project leaders will review the action research process and key findings, share first-hand country experiences, discuss lessons learned and future use and adaption of the checklists. A discussion and Q&A with participants will follow.  We look forward to sharing the results achieved and exploring how they can be applied in the future.

The webinar is accessible online to anyone. To access the webinar you will have to register at: https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/553033968 and follow the instructions provided upon registration. Participants can register early and join the webinar on the day of the event.

If you are in the DC area, the brownbag will be at CARE Offices, 825 I St NW #301, Washington, DC 20006.  If you are joining us for the brownbag, please confirm your participation by email with Aurelie Lhumeau (alhumeau@redd-standards.org) by Monday 26th at the latest in order to gain access to the building.
