Dear friends and colleagues,

In the context of the East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami, I am writing you as the Board Chairman of a Japan [Kobe] based non-profit, non-government organization named SEEDS Asia [www.seedsasia.org].  SEEDS Asia works on disaster risk reduction and recovery initiatives in Asian countries.

Due to the devastating nature of the damages, SEEDS has decided to work with the community based organizations in Japan in different immediate and long term needs.  Some of the immediate needs include assistance in evacuation centers and enhance communication process.  SEEDS has launched an international appeal for assistance, which you can download here [ENGLISH] [JAPANESE].  I shall appreciate it very much if you kindly share this appeal widely through your personal and/or institutional network.

Best regards,

Rajib Shaw

Board Chairman, SEEDS Asia
