“Financing for Development Women’s Caucus Statement: An Equitable World is possible and necessary, women at the FfD declare” advocates for gender sensitive sustainability and resource distribution.

Women are 51 percent of the world’s population and the majority of its poorest. Women from civil society are excluded from decision making in many countries, in global economic governance, and as full participants at conferences like the United Nations International Conference on Financing for Development. While the world’s leaders gather to make token gestures towards poverty eradication, thousands of women, men and children in Africa are dying from AIDS, and millions of children in the poorest countries are dying from preventable diseases.
