New York, February 25—GEAR Campaign activists are planning two events for next week’s annual UN meeting of the Commission on the Status of Women, which promises to draw a large number of women’s activists, government representatives and UN.

While the priority theme of this year’s meeting is “The equal sharing of responsibilities between women and men, including care giving in the context of HIV/AIDS”, many parallel and side events will take place throughout the two weeklong meeting.

On Tuesday, March 3 from 4:00-5:30 the GEAR Campaign will hold an event at the 777 UN Plaza Church Center on the 2nd floor. A second event is planned for the following week. Details will be posted on the WEDO website.
