Because successful conservation policies cannot neglect the wider socio-economic setting of societies, these Guidelines aim to assist the development of National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs) to meet the objectives of the Convention while simultaneously promoting gender equality. The guideline include two modules: Linking Conservation of Biological Diversity and Gender Equality; and Mainstreaming Gender into National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans—Process and Content.
