In April and May of 2020, our team at WEDO hosted a three-part webinar series on “Planning Virtual Meetings,” co-organized with our wonderful feminist partners Women Engage for a Common Future (WECF). As the COVID-19 pandemic progressed and necessitated social distancing around the world, it was clear we would need more virtual organizing than ever before. The WEDO/WECF webinars were an urgent response to that need, but we also know that digital tools and skills will be a critical tool for our movements far beyond this moment.
As feminists, we know we must continue to find ways to build power together online.
That’s why, today, we’re so thrilled to launch this new resource in English, French and Spanish: “Feminist organizing toolkit: planning virtual meetings!” Though this toolkit might be particularly useful in this time of social distancing, we hope its utility extends beyond, too. We must reach and connect to our feminist partners and allies around the world in order to address the most pressing global issues of our time, and virtual meetings can be one crucial tool in our toolbox for that work.
Por eso, hoy, estamos tan emocionadxs de lanzar este nuevo recurso en inglés, francés y español: “Kit de herramientas de organización feminista: ¡planeando reuniones virtuales!” Aunque este juego de herramientas podría ser particularmente útil en este tiempo de distanciamiento social, esperamos que su utilidad se extienda más allá también. Debemos alcanzar y conectarnos con nuestrxs socixs y aliadxs feministas en todo el mundo para abordar los problemas globales más apremiantes de nuestro tiempo, y las reuniones virtuales pueden ser una herramienta crucial en nuestra caja de herramientas para ese trabajo.
Voilà pourquoi, aujourd’hui, nous sommes ravis de lancer une nouvelle ressource en anglais, français et en espagnol: «La Boîte à outils pour l’organisation féministe: planifier des réunions virtuelles!» Bien que cette boîte à outils soit particulièrement utile en cette phase de distanciation sociale, nous espérons que son utilité ira également au-delà de cette période. Nous devons atteindre et nous connecter à nos partenaires et alliées féministes du monde entier afin de résoudre les problèmes mondiaux les plus urgents de notre époque, et les réunions virtuelles peuvent être un outil essentiel pour atteindre cet objectif.
