While language on human rights was excluded from the outcomes at COP24, there were some important gender considerations included.
Significantly, as the Paris Agreement only referred to gender in relation to adaptation and capacity building, the implementation guidelines have called for information on and consideration of gender responsiveness in relation to NDCs, adaptation communications, the technology mechanism and finance. In addition, Parties set in place a pathway for review of the Lima Work Programme on Gender and its Gender Action Plan at COP25.
