WEDO heads to China for the next meeting of the UNFCCC

Tianjin, China — From Monday, 4 to Saturday, 9 October 2010, WEDO will attend the UNFCCC climate change negotiations in Tianjin, China. This is the final meeting before the COP16 in Mexico and WEDO, as part of the Global Gender and Climate Alliance (GGCA) will be facilitating an advocacy team to ensure that gender references remain in the negotiating text.

Tianjin, China — From Monday, 4 to Saturday, 9 October 2010, WEDO will attend the UNFCCC climate change negotiations in Tianjin, China. This is the final meeting before the COP16 in Mexico and WEDO, as part of the Global Gender and Climate Alliance (GGCA) will be facilitating an advocacy team to ensure that gender references remain in the negotiating text. In addition, WEDO will be administering the Women Delegates Fund (WDF) which supports the participation of women from the global south to be members of their national delegations. In China we will be joined by eight delegates from countries such as Kenya, Ghana, Haiti, Nepal, and Bangladesh. These delegates will participate in a number of capacity building and knowledge sharing actitives during the negotiations.
