NEW YORK (February 8, 2013)– Today, the WEDO team wishes a fond farewell to our colleague and friend Ugoagha (Jessica) Awa, who after 4 and a half years of service to WEDO is moving on to new adventures back home in Abuja, Nigeria. Jessica started at WEDO as an intern, with a degree in accounting and an MBA in Global Business Administration from Kean University. From there, she became a full time staff Finance Assistant, and in 2010, was promoted to Finance Manager. She has overseen the management of several large scale WEDO projects, supported the development of WEDO’s current strategic plan, and taken leadership on the day to day operations of our office and team. We are and always will be grateful to have her as part of the WEDO family.

We are however, very excited to welcome Dona Weekes as WEDO’s new Finance Manager. Dona has more than twenty years of experience in non-profit accounting and financial management in very diverse settings. Thriving on the details and rolling up her sleeves as a team player, Dona’s motto is, ‘Change is good!’ Dona is committed to community volunteer work and counts among her biggest accomplishments taking the lead on a faith-based project called Welfare to Work. Dona has a BS and a Master’s in Accounting from the University of Phoenix. WEDO is thrilled to have her!
