Women and gender constituency deliver final Cancun intervention

During the high level segment of COP16 on Friday, December 10th, the Women and Gender Constituency delivered its final intervention. The statement stressed that women’s rights are human rights, which was a fitting point for Human Rights Day. No climate change program will be successful without the full recognition of women’s rights.

Cancun, Mexico — During the high level segment of COP16 on Friday, December 10th, the Women and Gender Constituency delivered its final intervention. The statement stressed that women’s rights are human rights, which was a fitting point for Human Rights Day. No climate change program will be successful without the full recognition of women’s rights.

At this important juncture, it is time to create structures that facilitate and ensure women’s role in decision-making in all regards – financing, mitigation, adaptation, technology and capacity- building and education. Download the full attached intervention.
